Walking in Kingdom Authority: Understanding the Power You Carry
Nov 18, 2024Walking in Kingdom Authority: Understanding the Power You Carry
When you receive Jesus as your Savior, you’re not just entering a new way of life—you’re stepping into the authority of the Kingdom of God. The Bible calls this Exousia, a Greek word meaning “governmental power.” This isn’t just any authority; it’s the power backed by the King of Kings and His heavenly government.
Think of it like a police officer wearing a badge and uniform. The badge signifies authority, and the uniform signifies the backing of a governing body. In the same way, when you become a believer, you are backed by the authority of Heaven, empowered to carry out God’s will on earth.
What Is Exousia Power?
Exousia is more than just permission; it’s the ability to act on behalf of God’s Kingdom. As believers, we’ve been given this power to:
- Heal the sick
- Cure diseases
- Cast out demons
- Raise the dead
Jesus bestowed this power upon His disciples (Matthew 10:1), and it is the same power available to us today.
"Truly I tell you, whoever believes in Me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father." – John 14:12
Stepping Into Your Authority
Walking in Kingdom authority isn’t reserved for a select few. It’s for every believer who chooses to align themselves with the will of God. However, understanding and activating this power requires faith and surrender.
- Faith: Believing that you’ve received this power and trusting in God to use it through you.
- Surrender: Allowing the Holy Spirit to guide and empower your actions.
Just as a police officer doesn’t question whether their badge gives them authority, you shouldn’t question the authority God has given you.
Healing for the Whole Person
God’s Kingdom authority also brings healing to the whole person—spirit, soul, and body. Many carry trauma or brokenness from past experiences that impact their thoughts, emotions, and even physical health. But the good news is that God desires to heal the brokenhearted (Psalm 147:3) and restore every part of us to wholeness.
Trauma can twist our view of God and ourselves, but through His power, we can experience freedom and restoration.
