Restored and Redeemed: How God Gives Back What Was Lost
Feb 14, 2025
Have you ever felt like something precious was taken from you—whether it’s a relationship, a dream, or an opportunity? The truth is, life can sometimes leave us feeling broken, with a deep longing for what’s been lost. Yet, in the Kingdom of God, there is hope: God is in the business of restoration and redemption.
In Joel 2:25, God promises, “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.” This verse is a powerful reminder that God not only sees what has been taken from us but is fully capable of restoring it—often in ways beyond our imagination.
God Restores What Was Stolen When we walk through loss, it’s easy to feel hopeless, but God is a God of restoration. His redemptive work is a central theme in Scripture. Whether it’s through His miraculous intervention or the steady work of healing over time, God can bring restoration to every area of our lives.
For example, in the story of David in 1 Samuel 30, we see a powerful narrative of recovery. David faced a devastating loss—his city was burned, and his family was taken. But when he sought God, followed His direction, and pressed forward in faith, David was not only restored but was given even more than he had lost.
Redeeming the Time Not only does God restore the things we’ve lost, but He redeems the time. We may think that certain opportunities have passed, that relationships have been forever damaged, or that our dreams are beyond reach. But with God, there is always a season for redemption.
When God redeems the time, He opens doors that we thought had closed and heals wounds we thought could never be healed. He gives us new beginnings and greater opportunities than we could have imagined.
Walking in Redemption It’s important to remember that redemption and restoration don’t always happen instantly. Sometimes, it’s a process—a journey of faith, perseverance, and trust. The key to walking in God’s redemption is remaining faithful, even when we don’t see the immediate results. He is working on our behalf, and He will bring about His perfect plan in His perfect timing.
A New Season of Restoration As you walk through life’s trials, know that God sees you. He has not forgotten the things you’ve lost, and He promises to restore all that was stolen. Trust Him to redeem your life in ways that glorify Him.
